Why? Well not because I would not have a car, but for the convenience it brings. I will explain.
Today’s weather is bad, really bad. It has been raining in Houston for the last couple of days – thanks to Alex – and so is the traffic. And even though I anticipated it partly I never expected to spend 2.5 hours on the interstate – you might call it the longest parking lot by then – trying to fight my way to the airport. And the airport is not even 30 miles away!
It’s not surprising then that I missed my flight (but only by about 10min) and are now waiting to be put on standby for the next available one.
So what does that have to do with public transport? Well, imagine a train going from Houston downtown to the airport. It would have been a blast. No traffic jam, no missing my flight and no driving back through the same traffic again…
Life could be so much easier!
